GX470
Underneath its luxury badging, the Lexus GX 470 (2003–2009) is a Land Cruiser Prado 120 — body-on-frame, full-time 4WD with a lockable center differential, a solid rear axle, and the same indestructible 4.7L 2UZ-FE V8 found in the 100 Series. KDSS was available on later models. It has become one of the most popular overland builds in North America precisely because it pairs Land Cruiser DNA with attainable pricing.
We build GX 470s into serious, comfortable expedition rigs: suspension systems that correct the soft factory setup and add travel, secondary-air and exhaust solutions, bumpers and sliders that protect the relatively low body, full overland storage, and tire packages up to 33s and 34s. For the money, a properly built GX 470 is one of the most capable overland vehicles you can own.
