FJ62
Land Cruiser FJ62
The FJ62 is the refined end of the 60 Series — fuel injection, an automatic, and the smoothest classic Cruiser to live with day to day.
Years
1988–1990
Engine
3F-E 4.0L EFI inline-six
Drivetrain
Part-time 4WD, solid axles, 4-speed automatic
Chassis
FJ62
Built for just three model years (1988–1990), the FJ62 is the most sophisticated of the classic Land Cruisers. The fuel-injected 3F-E inline-six and standard automatic transmission make it dramatically easier to live with than its carbureted predecessors, while keeping the same bulletproof solid axles and leaf-sprung chassis underneath.
The 3F-E is reliable but has well-known weak points — aging wiring, vacuum lines, and the EFI harness in particular. Our FJ62 work focuses on sorting those systems correctly, rebuilding the drivetrain where needed, and modernizing brakes, cooling, and suspension so the truck delivers on its promise as a comfortable, dependable classic that can still go anywhere.
